Not a stranger to most of you I’m assuming – Youth Lagoon is the stage name of American musician Trevor Powers. Successfully releasing an LP in 2011 called The Year of Hibernation (which I deliberately savored for weeks and until now), Powers is scheduled to deliver another load of dream-pop tunes with his latest, Wondrous Bughouse on March 5th. He’s then set to perform with a four-piece touring band at various music festivals including Pitchfork’s showcase on SXSW and Sasquatch Festival.
Here’s a taste of his newest album – revealing the same psychedelic-almost-hypnotic ambience, but comes with a much more daring Powers (that I’m quite loving) on vocals.
