Not to confuse this crush with a previous one, PINS, Louise and the Pins is mainly composed of Louise Hull and her two back-up singers, Bethan Gorman and Sara Templeman. Brushing elbows with the British nu folk scene which includes the now Grammy winners Mumford and Sons, Noah and the Whale, Johnny Flynn, and scoring duets with the likes of Laura Marling and Martha Wainwright, the all-girl band frequented shows in 2011 and early 2012 until they quietly took the backseat to prepare for a new EP, hopefully coming out this year. Surely it’s torturous for them to leave us with such few tracks, especially when they’re the heart-wrenching, melancholic and nostalgic kind – but they did leave us with a music video for the track “Bell Jar”. It stars David Bradley and if he looks familiar, that’s probably because you’ve seen him loitering around Hogwarts with his cat, Mrs. Norris.
